Optimize TP-Link Archer AX Series Firewall for VoIP Calls

Follow these steps to disable IPS/IDS in TP-LINK HomeShield Security to prevent audio issues in VoIP calls.

1. Why Disable HomeShield IPS/IDS?

🚨 HomeShield Security’s IPS/IDS can interfere with VoIP traffic, causing audio issues. Disabling or excluding this feature helps improve call quality.

2. Steps to Disable IPS/IDS in HomeShield

1️⃣ Open the TP-Link HomeShield Mobile App.

  • Navigate to "Home" > "HomeShield Security" menu.

2️⃣ Access HomeShield Settings.

  • Once logged in, go to "HomeShield".

3️⃣ Disable IPS (Intrusion Prevention System).

  • Toggle off the "IPS" setting.
  • Optionally, you can enable "Web Protection" and "IoT Protection" instead.

4️⃣ Still Experiencing Audio Issues?

  • Exclude or disable antivirus services from VoIP traffic in HomeShield settings.
